A school principal seems to have no shame despite sexually abusing a girl from his school.

65-year-old Francis S. Xavier from Kolkata, India, was arrested for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl.

He publicly admitted the crime to the media but dismissed it as a “small” mistake and he said that it was no big deal since there was no “sexual intercourse.”

Xavier, who runs the school in the Koderma district, is accused of going into the school’s bathroom, removing the girl’s clothes, and touching her inappropriately. He also ordered the girl to touch his private parts.

When she started crying, he gave her some money and told her not to report the matter to anyone, the child said.

The girl did, however, tell her parents about the sexual abuse and the school principal was arrested.

Reporters were present when Xavier was taken into custody.

To everyone’s surprise, he did not deny the allegations made by the 7-year-old victim. Instead, he confessed to touching the girl but denied having sex with her.

He defended his actions saying: “Yes, I did, but it was not such a big mistake, there was no sexual intercourse, let me be honest, I could not even have done it. I’m old now. It was an accident.”

He then added that he was under a lot of pressure. “My work is not going well. I have heart problems and sometimes I cannot sleep at night. I have insomnia.”

Xavier was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

Medical tests have been conducted on the child and police are waiting for the results.

Shivani Tiwari, a senior police officer of Koderma, said that the investigation is still ongoing. “This is a serious crime. It is a sensitive crime and they are looking into whether Xavier sexually abused other children,” said.
