A young woman who was looking forward to a career as a teacher had her dreams cut short when she taught her students the wrong lesson.
20-year-old Elisha Mahar was arrested after high school students told a resource officer that she encouraged them to smoke marijuana and gave them a vaping device.
Mahar was a substitute teacher in Somersworth, New Hampshire when the incident occurred.
The resource officer called police and Mahar was arrested. She was charged with 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Superintendent Connie Brown said that the school district is cooperating fully with police.
Mahar was released from jail after posting $5,000 bail.
