Teacher who tried to have anal sex with 14-year-old boy he met on Grindr spared jail because he succumbed to temptationBy Emily Lewis 11:30 AM December 3, 2017
A judge allowed a child predator to walk out of court a free man because he succumbed to his temptation, according to court documents in the United Kingdom.
23-year-old Daniel Dulake of Surrey was arrested after he contacted a 14-year-old boy on Grindr and expressed his interest in having anal sex.
Dulake was charged and convicted of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
Judge Nicholas Cooke sentenced Dulake to 8 months in jail, which was suspended for 2 years.
Dulake was slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was banned from having contact with boys under the age of 16 for the next 10 years.
Cooke said that he did not send Dulake to jail because he understands that the defendant succumbed to his temptation.
According to the police investigation, Dulake graduated from the St. Mary’s University.
Dulake then became a primary school teacher for several months until he was arrested.
Dulake was arrested after a Grindr user sent him child abuse photos.
Police seized Dulake’s phone and he worked undercover for the police.
Police learned that Dulake contacted a 14-year-old boy on Grindr and tried to coax the child into having anal sex.
Dulake denied the allegations, saying that he was just trying to collect evidence of child abuse for the police.
The jury rejected his excuse and convicted him of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
