People were shocked to see a disturbing video of a kitten being thrown by a teenager just for fun.

The teenager from California uploaded the video of himself throwing the kitten to Snapchat.

The abuse video, which depicted the suspect throwing the small kitten into the air causing it to land in the street a distance away, caused outrage and people contacted the Ontario Police Department regarding the abuse of the kitten.

Officers immediately started investigating the incident and received tips from people. They were able to identify the suspect later that afternoon.

Ontario officers spotted the suspect near 7th Street and Berlyn Avenue in the City of Upland at approximately 1:45 p.m.

When the suspect saw the officers, he ran but was quickly tackled and taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile who is a resident of Ontario. Due to his age, his name and additional information will not be released.

The teenager was booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall on a charge of felony animal abuse.

Police said that the kitten and its owner have been located. The kitten survived the incident but did suffer an injured leg. The Inland Valley Humane Society is now caring for the injured animal.
