The City of Yellowknife, said that the car owner is liable to pay the $25 fine or face an increased penalty of $50.
A woman who was outside on the street, noticed a police officer slapping a car with the parking ticket on Thursday. A few minutes later, a raven swooped in and plucked the ticket from the windshield with its beak.
The bird then ripped the parking ticket to shreds and flew away.
By the time the owner of the vehicle returned, there was no sign of the ticket. City officials said that the car’s owner has 10 days to pay the $25 fine or face an increased penalty of $50.
