(Scroll down for video) Two men who raced each other in a residential area, caused the death of a young girl by dangerous driving, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Now, the two men have been sentenced to serve four years in prison at the Burnley Crown Court for causing death by dangerous driving of 9-year-old Aleena Kauser on Bacup Road, Rawtenstall.

23-year-old Mohsen Saddique, who was driving a VW Golf, and 20-year-old Adil Manir, who was driving a Audi A5, were racing each other at speeds of between 55 and 64 miles per hour at around 5:00 p.m.

After almost colliding with another car, Manir mounted the pavement and struck Kauser and her mother.

Another family member was present, but was not injured.

Manir, who pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing, was sentenced to four years in prison while Saddique, who was found guilty following an eight day trial at the Burnley Crown Court, was also sentenced to four years in prison.

Tom Snape, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS North West said: "This is a tragic case whereby a 9-year-old girl who was walking along the street with her mother and cousin, was hit by an out of control car and sadly lost her life.

"Mohsen Saddique and Adil Manir both undertook a very dangerous course of action by driving at around twice the speed limit in a busy residential area.

"Saddique was tailgating Manir, actively encouraging him to drive faster and more dangerously. Manir overtook him on a pedestrian crossing, which resulted in the driver losing control of his car.

“Manir then immediately swerved, lost control of his Audi and mounted the pavement before ploughing into Kauser and her mother.

"Both men showed complete disregard for all other road users when they used their cars to race with each other. Even though only one car actually struck Kauser, they are both culpable for her fatal injuries.”

Federal agents arrest convicted illegal Mexican immigrant who was set free by the New York Police Department

Luis Alejandro Villegas being arrested
By: Emily Lewis

Federal agents swooped in to arrest a convicted illegal immigrant who was set free by the New York Police Department.

Officers of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested a Mexican national on Wednesday, after he was released from local custody when a detainer lodged with New York authorities was ignored.

The man, who had previously been removed from the United States, has a prior conviction for forcible theft armed with a deadly weapon.

Luis Alejandro Villegas, 31, was released from local custody by the New York Police Department, after being detained for driving while intoxicated.

Villegas has a previous criminal conviction for robbery in the first degree, forcible theft with a deadly weapon for which he served five years in prison.

Following his prison term, Villegas was removed from the United States, pursuant to a final order of removal.

ICE filed the detainer with the New York Police Department in Manhattan, where he was detained while the DWI charge was pending.

However, he was released from New York custody after authorities decided to ignore the detainer.

A criminal warrant was subsequently issued by the Southern District of New York (SDNY) for the illegal reentry of a removed alien.

ICE officers arrested Villegas at the intersection of 111th Street and Park Avenue in New York. He was processed and later transported to federal court for an appearance before a judge.

He is now in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service with charges pending.

"Villegas is a criminal alien who was released back into our New York communities, posing an increased and unnecessary risk to those who live in this great city,” said Thomas R. Decker, field office director for ERO New York.

“This level of risk can be mitigated in many instances and ICE welcomes changes to the current policy, which is creating a potentially unsafe environment for the city’s residents.

“ICE is committed to strengthening its relationship with local law enforcement in the interest of public safety and national security while preserving the critical community-police bond,” Decker added.

How Judging Other People Favorably Will Enhance Your Life

Be happy (illustration)
By: Michelle Parker

We were always taught to never judge a book by its cover.

When it comes to ourselves, we always have reasons to justify our behaviors.

However, we don't always want to see things from other people's perspectives.

When we interact with people, there is bound to be some disagreements

When another person said something that you felt was disrespectful or uncalled for, you can respond by getting aggravated and angry or seek ways to get revenge.

However, this will affect your health in a negative way, and it will take away your peace of mind and your inner peace.

Instead, take a moment to put yourself “in the other person's shoes.”

Maybe they are under stress or tired, which caused them say or do something offensive. Or maybe they misunderstood you.

Think of what you would have wanted to be treated if you were in their position.

For your sake, let it go. Find ways to judge them favorably and don’t allow anyone to take away your happiness. Nothing is worth ruining your day.
