A teenager who is trying to become a professional baseball player stabbed both of his parents as they slept, according to police in Florida.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested Raylan Wagner, 16, after using a knife to stab his parents in the head and neck.
He was charged as an adult with two counts of aggravated battery.
In the early morning hours on Wednesday, Wagner attacked both of his parents when they were sleeping.
The victims were stabbed in the head and neck areas with a knife.
Both victims fought with Wagner and he fled the scene.
The suspect was located nearby and confessed to the incident.
Neighbors said that they heard the parents yelling their son’s name during the attack.
The 43-year-old mother and 45-year-old father were taken to the Orange Park Medical Center, where they are in stable condition.
Wagner attended the Paxon School for Advanced Studies.
He played baseball and dreamed of becoming a professional player.
One of his friends described Raylan as “just a very loving guy.”
