16-year-old female bullying victim pepper sprayed classmate before being stabbed to death outside Dunkin’ DonutsBy Alexis Bell 6:37 AM January 18, 2018
Students gathered to pay their respects for a young girl who was killed by her classmate.
16-year-old Valaree Megan Schwab of New Rochelle, New York, was stabbed to death by a classmate, who friends said was bullied for some time.
Z’Inah Brown, 16, has been arrested and charged as an adult with second-degree murder.
She allegedly used a steak knife to stab Schwab twice in the upper torso. Brown then fled the scene and left her classmate bleed to death.
Students at the high school they both attended said that Valaree was very outspoken and a political activist who fought injustice. This led to her being bullied by Brown and others.
On that fateful day, a group of five teenagers, boys, and girls followed her and argued with Schwab for about 10 minutes.
When they arrived at a Dunkin’ Donuts, Schwab tried to fight them with pepper spray but she was soon stabbed by Brown.
Schwab was rushed to a hospital, where she later died. Many students showed up in court in support of Brown. The suspect’s family said that the stabbing was an accident.
Police said that there are 2 videos of the incident, which will be handed over to a grand jury.
