A teen injured a baby and dumped her in a garbage can on the street, according to police in Canada.
Winnipeg police said that they have arrested the 17-year-old boy, who was not identified, for dumping the 1-year-old girl in the recycling bin and leaving her there to freeze.
The boy has been charged with assault, possession or consumption of liquor by a minor, causing bodily harm by criminal negligence, and abandoning a child.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Monday, in the 500 block of Pritchard Avenue.
The 17-year-old boy was drinking at a party until he had a fight with a 13-year-old girl.
The boy was then kicked out of the party.
He grabbed the 1-year-old girl and ran away from the scene.
While running, he tripped and fell on top of the girl.
As a result, the girl suffered serious injuries.
The boy then dumped the girl in a garbage can.
It was just 8 degrees outside when the incident unfolded.
Luckily, Robert Keno heard a baby crying and went to investigate.
He opened the recycling bin and was shocked to see the injured girl stretching out her arms to him.
He immediately took her home and called the police.
The girl was topless and wearing just a diaper and pants.
The girl was rushed to a hospital, where she is said to be in stable condition after suffering serious injuries.
