55-year-old shoplifter falls to his death while running from security guard

A man who stole some food from a supermarket lost his life in a failed attempt to get away with the goods.

The man in Japan who was caught stealing in a supermarket in Tochigi died during an accident while fleeing from the security guard.

According to the police, the incident occurred just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The security guard at the supermarket in Miyukigaharamachi witnessed the 55-year-old man putting food in his pocket before leaving the store.

When he reached the second floor of the parking area, the guard confronted him and shouted: “You have some items that you have not paid for,” to which he replied: “I do not know what you are talking about.”

As the guard came closer to the suspect, he tried to flee from the scene. He climbed onto the fence of the parking lot and attempted to jump over.

The suspect lost footing and fell to his death. When police arrived, they found eight supermarket items in his pockets.
