A man is lucky to be alive after being run over twice by the same car, according to police in China.
Lianyungang police said that they have launched an investigation after the 7-year-old boy and his grandfather ran over the same man twice in a span of minutes.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday, at around 8:00 a.m., while the grandfather was driving his 7-year-old grandson to school.
The grandfather drove the car when he hit a pedestrian.
The pedestrian fell down in the middle of the road.
The grandfather immediately stopped his vehicle to assist the injured man.
He got out of the car but left the 7-year-old boy alone inside.
The 7-year-old boy then got into the driver’s seat and hit the gas.
The boy then ran over the injured pedestrian a second time before sideswiping another vehicle and crashing into a fence.
The incident was recorded on video and was uploaded to the Internet.
The video shows the grandfather running after his out of control car.
He opened the door of the car after it crashed into the fence and reprimanded his grandson for pressing the gas pedal.
So far, no arrests have been made.
The injured pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.
