A young mother who was struggling to care for her baby left him home alone to die.

According to police in Russia, 17-year-old Viktoria Kuznetsova from Rostov was overwhelmed to care for her son.

The court heard that Kuznetsova complained over the fact that the toddler was keeping her up at night and that meant she couldn’t go out with friends or focus on her college studies.

When the baby’s father went to the military, Kuznetsova no longer wanted to care for her son.

The teen mother placed her 9-month-old son Egor into his carriage and left him there for one week while she stayed in a college dorm with friends.

The woman told friends that she left her baby in the care of a relative. Sadly, after a week, the baby was found dead inside his home.

An autopsy revealed that the toddler’s internal organs shut down due to lack of food and water.

Kuznetsova was sentenced to 6 and a half years in prison for the death of her son.
