A gym trainer suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a fast-moving train while trying to take a selfie, according to police in India.
The South Central Railways Police said that they have arrested 25-year-old T Siva after being accused of obstructing traffic by standing on the train tracks.
He was ordered to pay a fine of $8.
According to a video that was uploaded to the Internet, Siva stood on the train tracks while recording himself patiently waiting for a train to approach on Sunday at the Borabanda railway station.
As the fast-moving train approached, a man can be heard warning him to move out of the way to avoid being hit.
Siva ignored the man’s pleas while the train blared its horn.
Siva showed the train conductor to wait as he did not complete recording his video.
The video ended with the train slamming into Siva.
Siva was hit in the head and suffered serious injuries.
Luckily, he survived as the train conductor hit the brakes seconds before hitting him.
The video of the accident was uploaded to the Internet, where it went viral.
The video was recorded as part of a deadly trend in the country of people taking selfies in front of fast-moving trains.
