Police were called to the scene of a crime after shots have been fired.
Officers in Chicago, Illinois, who responded to the scene, found one man dead.
The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Eastwood Avenue. Police said the two suspects attempted to break into a home.
When the residents heard someone trying to get into the home, they came to the front door to confront the suspects.
One of the men started firing towards the front porch in an attempt to shoot the residents but he accidentally hit his accomplice on the head.
The accomplice was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as 43-year-old Luis Antonio Morales of Melrose Park.
No one inside the house was injured. The police are still looking for the shooter.
