Hospital emergency room nurse got into bed with sedated women and fondled their breastsBy Mason White 8:17 AM January 26, 2018
A hospital nurse has admitted to sexually assaulting women who were being treated in the emergency room, according to police in Colorado.
Adams County police said that they have arrested 45-year-old Thomas Moore after being accused of fondling the breasts of at least 10 women.
In court, Moore pleaded guilty to sexual assault and other charges.
A judge has sentenced Moore to serve 12 years in prison in addition to the 12 years he was already given in another county.
These two sentences will run concurrently.
According to the police investigation, Moore has a long history of sexually assaulting female patients at hospitals.
Alaska has canceled Moore’s nursing license many years ago but he was able to get a job in Colorado and Wyoming.
Over the years, Moore worked as an emergency room nurse at UCHealth emergency room, Regional West Medical Center, Poudre Valley Hospital, Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center, and North Suburban Medical Center.
Many women came forward to file complaints with the police, but for some reason, Moore was able to find employment at another hospital and continue his sexual assaults.
Most of the victims told police that after being heavily sedated in the emergency room, Moore got into bed with them and fondled their breasts.
Prosecutors told the court that Moore targeted vulnerable women who were unable to react to his assaults because they were heavily sedated.
In addition to the prison term, Moore will have to register as a sex offender for life.
