A husband flew into a rage when his wife did not know the latest score of the football game he was watching, according to police in Arkansas.
Carlisle police said that they have arrested 58-year-old Tony Thomas after being accused of stabbing his wife to death following an argument about football.
Thomas has been charged with one count of capital murder.
He was booked into the Lonoke County jail and his bail has been set at $1 million.
If convicted, Thomas faces the death penalty.
According to the police investigation, Thomas and his wife Elke were watching a football game on TV when he decided to go outside and smoke a cigarette.
While he was outside, Elke decided to change the TV channel to watch something other than football.
When Thomas came back inside, he asked Elke for an update on the football score.
Elke told him that she did not know because she switched the TV channel while he was outside smoking a cigarette.
Thomas grabbed a knife and stabbed his wife to death.
He dragged her body out of the home to the backyard, where he covered her with a tarp.
Thomas then called the police and confessed to killing his wife.
