A female prison guard was choked and sexually assaulted just days after beginning her new job, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Cambridgeshire police said that they launched an investigation against the 27-year-old prisoner, who was not identified, for dragging the female prison guard into his cell, choking her, and sexually assaulting her.

So far, the prisoner has not been charged with a crime.

According to the police investigation, the HMP Littlehey houses sex offenders.

The sexual assault incident unfolded at the HMP Littlehey in Crow Spinney Lane, on Tuesday, at around 9:40 a.m.

The female prison guard, who began her job just two days before the attack, was checking cells for contraband.

When she approached the suspect’ cell, he dragged her inside and blocked the door.

He then choked her until she fell unconscious.

The suspect then took off her clothes and sexually insulated her.

Inmates who witnessed the attack called for help.

The victim was treated by the prison’s medical staff for bruises.

An organization that seeks to improve UK prisons slammed the Ministry of Justice, claiming that only two prison guards were on duty at the HMP Littlehey, which houses 1,200 rapists and sex offenders, at the time of the attack.
