A man in Arizona was arrested after waking up many guests at a hotel by beating his mother.
Mesa police said that they received multiple calls to 911 from guests at the Hilton Hotel, at 3:00 a.m.
When officers arrived, they learned that 25-year-old Leonard James Johnson, who was drunk, accused his mother and his girlfriend of smoking drugs in the hotel room, where 9 family members including 6 children had been sleeping.
His screaming awoke sleeping family members. The relatives, believing that Johnson was about to be violent, forced him out of the room.
It was then that his mother and sister-in-law went outside to calm him down.
Johnson reportedly punched his mother in the face, knocking her unconscious. He then kicked her in the face while she was on the ground.
The sister-in-law managed to stop the attack.
Many witnesses told police that they heard Johnson threatening his girlfriend who was locked in the room with six children.
Johnson was still belligerent when the police arrived. He was Tasered before being arrested.
Johnson accused his mother and girlfriend of smoking meth in the hotel room but police said there was no evidence of that.
Johnson then admitted to drinking alcohol before the attack. He has been charged with aggravated assault.
