A man beat his pregnant girlfriend with a baseball bat and left her and her unborn child for the dead, according to police in West Virginia.
Charleston police said that they have arrested 21-year-old Kyle Wilson Stowers after being accused of nearly killing his girlfriend and unborn child.
He was charged with one count of malicious wounding.
Stowers was booked into the South Central Regional Jail and his bail has been set at $10,000.
According to the police investigation, Stowers’ girlfriend was 37 weeks pregnant and living in a home located in the 1800 block of Coral Drive.
On Monday, Stowers grabbed a wooden baseball bat and beat his pregnant girlfriend on her head, face, and torso.
As a result of the beating, she suffered bruises, lacerations, swelling, and severe pain.
Stowers then took a hypodermic needle filled with meth and injected the drug into the right arm of his girlfriend just days before giving birth.
Stowers then fled the scene and left his girlfriend and unborn child for the dead.
The victim managed to call the police.
She was rushed to a hospital, where she was treated.
