A man chopped up his girlfriend after spending a night of drinking with her, according to police in Washington.

Seattle police said that they have arrested 39-year-old John Robert Charlton after being accused of killing 40-year-old Ingrid Lyne.

In court, Charlton pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and vehicle theft.

He was sentenced to serve nearly 28 years in prison.

According to the police investigation, Lyne was a nurse at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center.

She had 3 daughters, who were 12, 10, and 7 years old at the time of her death.

Lyne divorced her husband and began looking for a boyfriend online.

She found Charlton and they went to a baseball game together.

The two then went to bars, where they drank alcoholic beverages.

Charlton and Lyne then went to her home, where he claimed they had sex.

Charlton dragged Lyne to the bathtub, where he killed her and chopped up her body.

He placed the pieces in garbage bags and dumped them in a recycling bin.

The homeowner found the dismembered body and called the police.

Charlton never revealed a motive for the murder.
