A man severely injured his girlfriend’s son because he vomited during dinner, according to police in Idaho.

The Rexburg Police Department said that they have arrested 32-year-old Sean Ryan after being accused of using a spatula to slap the behind of his girlfriend’s 6-year-old son.

Ryan has been charged with one count of injury to a child.

He was booked into the Madison County Jail and his bail has been set at $150,000.

According to the police investigation, on Saturday, Ryan and his girlfriend were eating dinner along with the 6-year-old child in their home located in the 300 block of West Second South.

At some point, the boy vomited.

Ryan became angry with the child.

He grabbed a spatula and began hitting the boy on the behind.

He then kicked the child in his face.

Ryan dragged the child to the shower and forced him to wash himself with cold water.

The man then took the child to a bedroom, where he continued the assault.

The mother of the child did nothing to help.

She claimed that she was unaware that her boyfriend was abusing the child.

The boy told police that he did not scream because he was scared and it hurt very bad.

The boy was taken to the Madison Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
