Mother picking up 2 daughters finds them dead next to body of their fatherBy Tanya Clark 8:17 AM January 10, 2018
A mother was horrified to find her daughters dead in a car next to their deceased father.
The father had visitation when all 3 were found unresponsive in his car in a parking lot.
Police are awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of deaths as the girls did not suffer any visible wounds but police said they believe this was murder-suicide.
Amy Hunter and her ex-husband of Sacramento, California, had been involved in a custody battle over the girls, Sara, 9, and Sophie, 12, for over 3 years.
Hunter, who according to the local Muslim community has converted to Islam, had a restraining order against her ex-husband, 46-year-old Hamdy Rouin, an immigrant from Tunisia.
Coworkers said that Rouin was supposed to be in court the day of the incident for violating the restraining order after sending text messages to his ex-wife.
Coworkers believe that Rouin snapped because he was afraid he was going to lose custody of his daughters, whom he loved dearly.
