A police sergeant killed his son and buried him at a cemetery after accusing the child of stealing a small amount of money, according to police in Nigeria.

Lagos police said that they have arrested Oludele Olosunde after being accused of killing 17-year-old Ibukun.

Olosunde is facing a charge of murder.

According to the police investigation, Olosunde was the police sergeant at the Kirikiri Police Division.

Olosunde and his 17-year-old son lived together at a home on Rasak Okunola Avenue.

On Monday morning, Olosunde looked for his money around the house.

When he could not find the cash, he accused Ibukun of stealing $5.

Ibukun denied the allegations.

When Olosunde came home from work, he grabbed his son and threw him to the ground.

He then flogged him with a stick until he fell unconscious.

Olosunde took his son to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

The coroner concluded that Ibukun died as a result of head trauma.

Olosunde then took possession of his son’s dead body and buried him at the Apapa Cemetery.

Later in the day, a neighbor called the police to report that he saw Olosunde beating his son.

Olosunde was arrested, and during questioning by police, he denied the allegations.

Olosunde claimed that Ibukun hit his head in a septic tank while trying to run away from him.
