A doctor took advantage of his patients and had sex with them, according to police in Wyoming.

Campbell County police said that they have arrested 32-year-old Dr. Joshua Ray Popkin after being accused of having sex with at least two patients, including a rape victim.

Popkin has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

In court, Popkin pleaded to the charges.

The doctor admitted that prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him.

Popkin was sentenced to serve 3 to five years in prison for each count.

He had faced up to 40 years in prison.

The doctor will also have to pay restitution to his victims and register as a sex offender for life.

According to the police investigation, Popkin worked as a psychologist with Campbell County Health at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

At some point, Popkin began taking advantage of his patients, including a rape victim, and persuade them to have sex with him.

One woman told investigators that Popkin managed to get into her head and make her have sex with him.

During therapy sessions, Popkin kissed her repeatedly.

Popkin also set up therapy sessions at her home.

The two had sex despite the fact that the doctor was married.

Popkin told the victim to stay quiet because the government did not like his unconventional treatment method and might get into trouble.

On another occasion, Popkin brought along marijuana and they two used the drug together.

They then had unprotected sex.

Popkin assured the woman that she won’t get pregnant because he had a vasectomy.
