Train passenger chokes 1-year-old girl because she was crying in her mother’s arms

A mother panicked after a man grabbed her child and choked her because she was crying on a crowded train, according to police in Japan.

Saitama police said that they have arrested 22-year-old Kosuke Maeda after being accused of choking the 1-year-old girl during the afternoon rush hour.

Maeda has been charged with one count of assault.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Wednesday, at around 6:30 p.m., at the Omiya Station.

The mother, who was not identified, was traveling on the JR Kawagoe Line along with her 1-year-old daughter.

The girl became distressed as the train became crowded.

The mother tried to sooth the girl by holding the child in her arms but she still cried.

Maeda became irritated with the child.

He approached the mother and grabbed the child from her arms.

He then placed his hands on the girl’s neck and squeezed.

Luckily, a police officer was nearby and stopped the attack.

Maeda was arrested at the scene without incident.

During questioning by police, Maeda admitted to choking the girl because he couldn’t stand the crying.
