Parents are grieving the loss of their daughter who committed suicide.

Authorities in Florida who were investigating the death of 12-year-old Gabriella “Gabbie” Green discovered that she was bullied by two other teens at the time of her death.

Green, who was a Surfside Middle School student, reportedly hanged herself in a closet after repeatedly receiving emotionally abusive messages and calls from her classmates.

Police said they have received permission from the parents of the alleged bullies to interview their children.

During questioning, police said the teens confessed to sending harassing messages and making calls to Green.

According to the police report: “the suspects’ actions consisted of starting rumors about the victim having sexually transmitted diseases, vulgar name-calling, and threats to ‘expose’ personal and sensitive details of the victim’s life.”

The other teen allegedly admitted to encouraging Green to commit suicide, by saying something to the effect of “If you’re going to do it, just do it.”

The teen said that he regretted his actions immediately. He tried calling and texting Green but she did not respond.

Police have arrested the two students on charges of cyberbullying.

However, authorities said that cyberbullying may not have been the sole cause of death.

Tanya Green said that she hopes these arrests will help other suffering children and act as a wakeup call to bullies around the world.
