A woman flew into a fit of rage and killed her husband’s secretary after falsely believing they were having an affair, according to police in North Carolina.

Salisbury police said that they have arrested 66-year-old Marlene Postell Johnson after being accused of killing 62-year-old Shirley Goodnight Pierce.

In court, Johnson has been found guilty of first-degree murder.

Judge Stuart Albright sentenced Johnson to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Johnson denied the allegations, saying that she never hurt Pierce but DNA evidence put her at the crime scene.

According to the police investigation, Johnson’s husband Ervin was the president and CFO of Tuscarora Yarns.

Pierce was Ervin’s executive administrative assistant for many years.

Johnson was very jealous of her husband’s secretary and kept following her around.

She collected an enormous amount of photos and videos, which she took while following Pierce.

Pierce filed several restraining orders against Johnson over the years.

Ervin denied having an affair with his employee.

One morning, Pierce’s fiance, Chuck Reeves, found her dead body with a knife blade protruding from her neck.

Suspicion immediately fell on Johnson.

Johnson’s blood was found at Pierce’s home

20-year-old Alex Norton testified in court that he got a text message from Johnson, which read: “Back off, you will not get Ervin over my dead body, you skanky whore.”

Apparently, Johnson accidentally sent the text message to the wrong number.
