A long snake attacked a young girl who attended a travel expo with her family, according to police in Illinois.
Schaumburg police said that they have launched an investigation after the 17-foot-long python attacked the 4-year-old girl and bit her body.
The incident unfolded on Thursday, at around 5:30 p.m., at the Chicagoland Fishing, Travel, and Outdoor Expo.
The National Marine Manufacturers Association sponsored the expo, which focuses on travel and the outdoors.
The event was held at the Schaumburg Convention Center.
The snake was one of the animals, which were showcased at the expo.
Apparently, the 4-year-old girl got too close to the snake and it attacked her.
She was taken to the Alexian Brothers Medical Center, where doctors said that the girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
