2 thieves posed as luxury watch buyers before replacing real Rolex with fake during meeting with seller

A man who tried to sell his luxury watch was robbed after thieves replaced it with a knock-off, according to police in Singapore.

The Police have arrested the two men, 20 and 24, for their suspected involvement in the case of theft.

According to the police investigation, on Tuesday, the department received a report from the victim, alleging that his genuine Rolex watch was stolen.

The victim told the police that he advertised his watch for sale on a social media platform.

The suspects had contacted him and requested to see the watch before buying it.

The victim facilitated the request and handed the watch to the suspects for viewing.

It is believed that the genuine Rolex watch was replaced with an imitation version by one of the suspects before it was handed back to the victim.

Through extensive police work and with the aid of security camera footage, officers from the Bedok Police Division established the identities of the suspects and arrested the two men at the Tuas Checkpoint.

The genuine Rolex watch was recovered and handed back to the victim.

The two men will be charged with theft with.

If convicted, they will face up to three years in prison and a fine.
