A woman is devastated after her longtime boyfriend dumped her when he won a large sum of money, according to court documents in Canada.

Denise Robertson filed a lawsuit against her former boyfriend, Maurice Thibeault, for dumping her after winning $6 million lottery jackpot.

Robertson is demanding that Thibeault give her $3 million of the winnings along with $500,000 in punitive damages.

Robertson claimed that her boyfriend lived with her and her daughter for many years.

During their time together, they both bought Lotto 6/49 tickets and had a verbal agreement to split any winnings.

One day, Thibeault bought a ticket with the numbers 6, 17, 29, 37, 45, and 47.

He won the jackpot of $6 million.

Thibeault did not tell Robertson that he won the money.

He quit his job, collected his belongings, and disappeared.

When Robertson came home, she realized that her boyfriend dumped her.

She later learned that he won $6 million and decided to leave her penniless.

Thibeault said that he does not owe her former girlfriend a penny, claiming that he decided to leave her long before winning the money.

He also denied having any agreement about sharing lottery winnings.
