Several teenagers suffered injuries after they were shot while riding in a stolen car.
33-year-old Antonio D. Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee, was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault for firing a rifle into his own Dodge Charger that had been stolen.
According to police, the car was taken from Johnson’s home in Antioch. Johnson discovered his car stolen at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday.
He called the police to make a report and then drove around Nashville in search of his Dodge Charger.
At 9:00 p.m., Johnson said he spotted the car so he began to follow it. At some point, Johnson rammed the driver’s side of the Dodge Charger with his Nissan Rogue.
At least three juveniles were in the car at the time. He then fired shots into the car.
He acknowledged that he did not see anyone inside the Charger with a weapon.
The teens in the Charger bailed out and fled in different directions. Johnson asked a passerby to call police.
A short time later, a 17-year-old arrived at Vanderbilt University Medical Center by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his groin.
He is in stable condition. The teen will be booked at Juvenile Court on a charge of auto theft.
A 14-year-old who went to the hospital with the 17-year-old suspect was arrested for auto theft. Police are looking for the third suspect.
