A man who was called “a good parent” has traveled to another location to meet a child for sex, according to police in Florida.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 29-year old Juan Villarreal of Duval County after traveling to St. Johns County to allegedly meet a child for sex.
Villarreal was booked into the St. Johns County Jail on charges of traveling to meet a child for sex, soliciting a child online for sex, soliciting a parent for sex with a child, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Villarreal’s bail has not yet been set.
The investigation began earlier this week when detectives initiated an undercover online investigation targeting subjects who use the Internet to prey on children.
The undercover detectives were able to contact Villarreal who allegedly was seeking a child for sex.
He sent pornographic images to the detectives.
Villarreal believed that he was talking with the mother of a 12-year-old girl.
He told the parents that he would like to have sex with the child.
The two set up a meeting place, where Villarreal would be able to have sex with the child.
Villarreal then traveled to an undisclosed location early Thursday evening, where he was taken into custody by detectives without incident.
Candice Charneicki, a neighbor of Villarreal, was shocked by the allegations.
She said that Villarreal was “anything but a good parent.”
He also helped his neighbors anytime they were in need.
