Man rapes women and blames them for the crimes saying “good girls don’t walk home alone at night”By Alexis Bell 8:58 AM February 6, 2018
A man who was unable to control his sexual urges went outside and grabbed women off the street and raped them.
While violating the women, the suspect, 59-year-old Patrick Mark Perkins of Adelaide, Australia, tried to make them feel as though they were to blame for being raped.
One of the victims testified in court that Perkins had blamed her for provoking a sexual attack, stating that she “should have known better” and that “good girls don’t walk home alone at night.”
Prosecutors said that the attacks were “callous, premeditated, and planned.”
Perkins, who is a grandfather, pleaded guilty to three counts of rape and one count of assault with intent to rape.
District Court Judge Julie McIntyre sentenced Perkins to 12 years in prison. He must serve 8 years before being eligible for parole.
