Police warned the public to closely examine the food they eat as someone has been placing sewing needles in bread and other items, according to police in Japan.

Chiba police said that they are looking to arrest the person behind the incident after numerous shoppers complained about finding sewing needles in their food.

The suspect began his reign of terror at the Maruei supermarket chain earlier this year.

Shoppers have been returning bread, tofu, and pastries after finding sewing needles in the food items.

Luckily, no injuries have been reported.

Police suspect that the person behind this is angry with the supermarket chain and wants to hurt the company by driving shoppers to the competition.

So far, at least 15 food items were found to contain sewing needles.

Police believe that one person is behind all the incidents.

Police are reviewing the security surveillance footage of the Maruei supermarket chain in an attempt to identify the suspect.
