Two men are dead after a shootout between them during a drug deal gone wrong.

According to police in Tennessee, the shooting appears to be a drug deal that turned into an attempted robbery.

“The apparent drug deal that turned into an attempted robbery is believed to have resulted in two men shooting and killing each other in the parking lot of Burger King at 2337 Murfreesboro Pike, at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday,” police said.

The deceased men were identified as 26-year-old Marcus Lee of Antioch and 20-year-old Ronnie Tunstill of Madison.

Police said that the initial investigation indicated that Lee and Tunstill met for a drug deal.

Tunstill then got into Lee’s vehicle.

Investigators believe that Tunstill attempted to rob Lee and both men then opened fire, shooting each other.

Lee died at the scene. Tunstill got into the passenger seat of an SUV.

The driver flagged down a Metro ambulance. Tunstill was transported to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

The driver of the SUV fled. Detectives are now trying to identify him.
